Paroti is the largest global charity and crowdfunding community in the world.
In 2022, the Orange County Healthcare Agency received a large CDC health grant and began the Equity in OC Initiative, which aimed to improve the lives of underserved and multicultural communities in Orange County by advancing healthy equity and access. A handful of community organizations were given participation grants to assist Orange County in its equity goals.
In June 2022, community organizations such as Access California Services, Saahas for Cause, Olive Community Service, OMID Institute, Qazizada, and the Arab American Civic Council, among other organizations, convened at the first Community Health and Improvement Leadership Academy (CHILA). These organizations and community stakeholders who serve the South Asian, Middle Eastern, and North African (SAMENA) communities saw an absence of a population group that represented them and was able to advocate for equitable advancement.

The SAMENA Collective is governed through a structure that empowers members of different committees. Each committee is responsible for its own assignments, aiming to improve the capacity of the entire collective and, by proxy, the entire community.
